Cookie Policy
On this page
1. What are cookies & similar technologies
Cookies are small text files a website can store in your browser. "Similar technologies" include browser storage mechanisms such as localStorage, which work the same way but are accessed differently. We use both terms in this policy to mean any small piece of data stored in your browser by the Facioneer web application or mobile app.
2. Cookies & storage we use
Facioneer only uses strictly necessary cookies and storage — the kind needed for the site and app to function. We do not require, and do not show, a cookie consent banner, because we don't use any cookies that require consent under Canadian privacy law.
| Name / type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Authentication session cookie | Keeps you signed in to your Facioneer account. Set as HttpOnly so it can't be read by page scripts. | Until you log out, or expires automatically after a period of inactivity. |
| Local storage — interface preferences | Remembers small, non-sensitive interface choices on your device, such as whether you've already seen a one-time welcome message. | Until cleared by you or your browser. |
None of these are used to track you across other websites, and none are shared with advertisers.
3. What we don't use
- No advertising cookies. We don't run ad campaigns that track you, and we don't sell or share data with ad networks.
- No third-party analytics cookies. We don't currently use tools like Google Analytics or similar trackers that set their own cookies.
- No cross-site tracking. Facioneer doesn't use cookies to follow you to other websites, and doesn't allow other websites to track you on ours.
If this changes in the future — for example, if we add privacy-respecting product analytics — we'll update this policy first and, where required, ask for your consent.
4. Managing cookies
Because Facioneer only uses strictly necessary cookies, blocking or deleting them will sign you out and may prevent the app from working correctly — there's no optional cookie category to turn off. Most browsers let you view, manage, and delete cookies and site storage in their privacy or settings menu. On the Facioneer mobile app, app permissions (separate from cookies) are described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the cookies and storage technologies we use change. If we make material changes, we'll update the version number and "Last updated" date above.
